Nanotrap® Microbiome Particles enable simple, automated methods for respiratory viruses, such as influenza and SARS-CoV-2, in transport medium samples. Nanotrap Microbiome Particles capture and concentrate whole viruses and can be used with a wide range of nucleic acid extraction kits.

  • Nanotrap Particles enabled the identification of SARS-CoV-2 RNA in 9 out of 32 diagnostic remnant samples that had previously tested negative for the virus (1). 

  • Increase assay sensitivity by capturing and concentrating low abundance viruses. Nanotrap particles improved real-time RT-PCR signal in low viral load diagnostic remnant samples by an average of 3.1 Ct values and sequencing coverage in low viral load diagnostic remnant samples by 20-80% (1,2).

  • Successfully utilized in high-complexity and point-of-care RT-PCR assays with FDA Emergency Use Authorization for COVID-19 (3,4). 

  • Available in the Streck® Viral Extraction Kit with CE mark for isolating intact virus particles contained in clinical samples (5).
